Definizione

The first deportation of Norwegian Jews on November 26, 1942 sets off a massive public protest in Sweden. All Swedish attempts to work through official channels to assist Jews in Norway fail; unofficially, however, those who cross the border into Sweden are accepted. This marks Sweden's turn toward active assistance, particularly in regard to Scandinavian Jews. (en-US)
