Austria is annexed by Germany on March 13. A wide variety of measures are imposed on Austrian Jews within weeks. Spontaneous Aryanization of businesses proceeds at a speed beyond the scope of Nazi officials; rapid Aryanization of homes begins after the November Pogrom in Germany on November 9-10, 1938 ("Kristallnacht").
