A forced labor camp opened in October 1944 and on November 1944, 1,100 Jews arrived from Budapest. From February 1945, groups of inmates arrived from other camps. The inmates were mainly Jews from Czechoslovakia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Poland, and Romania. Some inmates (500 men and 1,000 women on average) worked in construction, in the woods, and in surrounding farms and restaurants. In April 1945, American troops liberated the camp. (en-US)
