Ohrdruf (Germania : campo di concentramento)   Cerca

Definizione

Ohrdruf, also called Ohrdruf S III, was a subcamp of Buchenwald located in Thuringia. It was established with the goal to construct underground headquarters for Adolf Hitler (the project's code name was Olga) and start ramps for V-rockets as well as to provide forced labor to the local arms production industry. The camp opened at the end of 1944 and its camp population, mostly Soviet POWs and Jews, grew rapidly from 2,500 to 11,700 by March 29, 1945. Ohrdruf consisted of a North and a South camp and had two subcamps, Crawinkel and Espenfeld. The SS-WVHA/Amtsgruppe C (Bauwesen) under the leadership of Baustab S III oversaw the camp. At the beginning of April 1945 Ohrdruf's inmates were evacuated to Dachau, Buchenwald, and Theresienstadt. (en-US)
