Definizione

The Germans established Charlottengrube, a subsidiary camp of Auschwitz in Upper Silesia, in September 1944. The camp was located 9 kilometers (6 miles) east of Rybnik, 3 kilometers (2 miles) north of Rydultowy, and 2 kilometers (1 mile) south of Lukow. As of January 17, 1945, approximately 833 inmates were compelled to work at the Charlotte coal mine for the Hermann Göring Werke.
