Warschau (Polonia : campo di concentramento) CercaDefinizione
The concentration camp in Warsaw, Poland, opened in July/August 1943, and closed on July 24,1944 according to prisoner testimony. It was probably turned into a subcamp of Majdanek in April 1944. The inmates were Jewish men with various nationalities but most were either from Hungary or Greece and almost none from Poland. The camp was located in the destroyed ghetto area in the former ghetto prison on the Gesia Street. SS-Obersturmbannführer Wilhelm Goecke was in charge. The inmates were compelled to clean the area of rubble and collect material useful for construction. (en-US)
