Definizione

Definition: Italy has a limited monarchy. Jews make up about 0.1% of the population, and are fully integrated into Italian society and politics; antisemitism is a marginal phenomenon. In 1912, Italy invades and colonizes Libya, and seizes the Dodecanese from Ottoman Turkey. With the outbreak of World War I, Italy maintains neutrality but interprets Austria's declaration of war on Serbia as an act of aggression. In the Treaty of London (April 26, 1915), Italy joins the Allies on the basis of specific postwar territorial promises. (en-US)
