The Rothschild Hospital located in the 18th District of Vienna, Austria, in the U.S. zone, was used as a displaced persons installation by the Jewish community, the Austrian organization called Kultusgemeinde, and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee starting in October 1945. The camp population was comprised primarily of displaced persons who were ill. After receiving care, they were then transferred to other DP camps in Austria. (en-US)
