Definition:
The Allied Commission (A.C.) and the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (UNRRA) operated various displaced persons centers in Bologna, Italy, following World War II. Among the displaced persons centers in Bologna were the camps, Bologna I and Bologna II. Bologna I was also known as Bologna Refugee Center. The Bologna I camp was administered by both the A.C. and UNRRA. Bologna I was assigned the administrative codes IT-47 and No. 11 D.P.R.S.C. Centre Bologna. Bologna II was operated by the A.C. and was assigned code IT-48 and No. 12 D.P.R.S.C. Centre Bologna. Moreover, UNRRA operated the Central Refugee Hospital in Bologna. (en-US)
