Used for discussions of children outside of the context of concentration camps, ghettos, hiding, deportations/transfers, resistance groups, prisons, or refugee camps. The index term should be used when children are spoken of in relation to their standing or position as children; that is, discussions should address the ways in which the experience was unique for children due to their age. This term should not be used to simply indicate status. Additional Information: For discussions of the interviewee's child or children when the gender and name of offspring are unclear, the index term "children (of interviewee)" should be used instead.
