Definizione

The Partito Nazionale Fascista (PNF; National Fascist Party) was a right-wing Italian political party that had its roots in Benito Mussolini's Fasci di Combattimento (founded in 1919). The PNF was nationalistic, authoritarian, and committed to establishing an Italian empire throughout the Mediteranean and Africa. The party gained significant power in October 1922, when King Victor Emmanuel III capitulated power to the Fascists. From 1922 to 1943, the Partito Nazionale Fascista governed Italy under the leadership of Benito Mussolini. The PNF established numerous affiliate organizations. In 1943 the newly formed Badoglio government disbanded the Partito Nazionale Fascista. (en-US)
