Interlei, Telesio CercaDefinizione
Born in 1894, Telesio Interlandi was an editor and writer in Italy before and during the war and belonged to the pro-German faction of Italian fascism. Through his newspaper Il Tevere he criticized Jews for being anti-patriotic and Zionist after the Ponte Tresa affair in 1934, in which Jewish members of the Justice and Liberty movement were arrested for anti-fascist activities. From August 1938 to July 1943, he published the anti-Semitic newspaper, La Difesa della razza. After Marshall Badoglio assumed control of the government in July 1943, Interlandi was arrested and imprisoned in Regina Coeli in Rome. (en-US)
