Kraft durch Freude (Strength through Joy) was the office within Robert Ley's German Labor Front (DAF) that oversaw recreation activities in Nazi Germany. Aimed primarily at the working class, KdF sponsored subsidized leisure programs such as paid vacations, cruises, tickets to theaters and concerts, and also set up a savings program for purchase of the KdF Auto, the Volkswagen.
