Definizione

A concentration camp established by the German authorities in the state of Württemberg SSW of Ulm. In 1939 a German military camp was established that was later used as a POW camp for British officers as of 1940 and from November 9, 1941 for POWs from the USSR. In March 1942 POWs from Croatia, Serbia and France were added to the camp population. From September 1942 British civilians from the Channel Islands of Jersey and Guernsey were interned in the same camp under some international supervision. In November 1944 Jews from Tripoli and Benghazi and finally in January 1945 mostly Dutch Jews were brought into the camp. The camp was liberated by the French army on April 23, 1945. (en-US)
