Definizione

Definition: A camp for refugees was established in the village of Castel Gandolfo, near Rome, in the region of Lazio. The camp opened on December 1, 1945. The camp grounds comprised of a mansion and surrounding buildings. In 1946 there were four kibbutzim in Castel Gandolfo. Kibbutz No.1 and Kibbutz No. 4 housed Jewish refugees from Poland and Romania. Kibbutz No. 2 housed Jewish refugees from Czechoslovakia, Romania, and Hungary. Kibbutz No. 3 housed Jewish refugees from Poland. On March 13, 1946, forty people left Kibbutz No. 4 for a villa in Grottaferrata. (en-US)
