Slask (Polonia : Voivodship)   Cerca

Definizione

The Slask voivodship was located in southwestern Poland between the wars, with the capital in Katowice, and bordered on Germany, and the voivodships of Kraków and Kielce. The area had been part of Prussia as Silesia and was disputed between Germany and Poland after WWI. After a plebiscite in 1921 and a League of Nations partition in 1922, most of the Upper Silesia region that was centered around the cities of Katowice and Rybnik became the Slask voivodship in Poland. In 1939, Germany annexed the voivodship. After the war, all of the former Prussian Silesia east of the Neisse River was incorporated into the Slaskie voivodship. 1900-1918: Germany (Silesia) 1918-1921: Territory disputed between Germany and Poland 1922-1939: Poland 1939- 1945: Annexed to Germany (Upper Silesia) 1945: Liberated by Soviet Army 1945- : Poland (en-US)
