A subsidiary camp of Auschwitz in Upper Silesia, in the village of Wesola, Fürstengrube was opened in September 1943 and evacuated in January 1945. The camp was liberated January 29, 1945. The inmates were compelled to mine coal for Fürstengrube GmbH and to work on the construction of a new coal mine. (en-US)
