Definizione

An attempt to deceive others about one's physical and/or mental health (e.g., masking an illness to avoid being sent to a gas chamber, feigning a mental disorder, pretending to be dead to avoid being killed in a mass execution) in an effort to adjust to difficult circumstances or to increase one's real or perceived chances of survival in the context of persecution by the Nazis, their allies, or the Soviet Union.
