Definizione

World War II begins on September 1, 1939. With the onset of the war, the State Department and Congress use security concerns to restrict visa approval. President Franklin D. Roosevelt freezes German assets in the U.S. on June 14, 1941, and the State Department closes all German consulates and Nazi propaganda organizations on June 16. Roosevelt and Churchill formulate the Atlantic Charter on August 9-12. Japan attacks Pearl Harbor on December 7. (en-US)
