Definizione

The Iron Guard revolts against Antonescu January 21-23. A pogrom against Jews of Bucharest takes place. "Romanization" of the economy begins May 3. On June 23, Romania invades the USSR. Romania annexes Soviet territory beyond the Dniestr. A Jewish pogrom in Jassy takes place on June 29. Jews are deported from Old Romania to the west of Romania in August. During September-November, many Jews are massacred and/or deported to Transnistria. Anti-Jewish laws are implemented. (en-US)
