On July 20, 1927 King Ferdinand dies and Michael is proclaimed King. Pogroms take place on December 9, 1927. In 1929, the Legion of Archangel Michael is renamed the Iron Guard and dedicates itself to armed struggle against Communists and Jews. On June 8, 1930, the parliament proclaims Carol II King of Romania. On July 14, 1935, the Christian National party is established. On December 28, 1937, the new government introduces anti-Jewish laws. The Parliament and Senate are dissolved on January 18, 1938. (en-US)
