Definizione

The expansion of the Soviet Union to the West: Eastern Poland (Western Ukraine and Western Belorussia) is annexed in September 1939, Finland is invaded on November 30, 1939, Bessarabia and Northern Bukovina are incorporated on June 26, 1940, and Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania are incorporated into the USSR on August 3-6, 1940. The destruction of traditional Jewish institutions and Jewish parties in the annexed territories takes place during this period. (en-US)
