Definizione

These years are characterized by political instability and hyperinflation. The June 6, 1920 elections defeat the Weimar coalition of Socialist, Catholic, and liberal parties that had ushered in the republic and its constitution. Following a League of Nations recommendation (October 20, 1921), the Weimar Republic loses most of Upper Silesia to Poland. Hyperinflation begins in 1922, and the German currency collapses in 1923. France occupies the Ruhr on January 11. (en-US)
